Hi.
Some of this will also depend on the filmmakers budget. You might be interested in talking to the people at Evergreen Plantation in LA. (http://evergreenplantation.org/). Recently the big house there and the grounds were used for filming "Django Unchained". While Evergreen is not a house museum per se, the movie involved numerous scenes in and around the home and grounds. At one point, the production involved blowing up a set built on site. Almost the entire movie was filmed there, so they will have plenty of experience to help you. They will probably give good advice and will be able to answer questions quicker than an email. However, Quentin Tarantino is a big budget director, so your mileage may vary depending on the production crew you will be working with.
Sincerely
