Dear Colleagues,

This is a reminder that theICTOP Conference for 2011 will be this Fall in Toronto and online registration is now set up. Hotel info provided below.

ICTOP has not met in North America for over a decade, so this is a chance to catch up on many developments on the continent as well as to share with international colleagues. Furthermore we have our eye firmly on future professional development issues for ICTOP and ICOM and global perspectives.

We will have a series of keynote speakers from around the world including Lynda Kelly from the Australian Museum. More info to follow.

TorontoOct. 24-26 2011
ICTOP Annual Conference- The Museum
Professional Network: Careers, Connections and Community

The ICTOP Annual Conference will be held in Toronto, Canada, from Sunday
evening Oct. 23 to Thursday October 26, 2011, with a pre-conference workshop on
E-Learning and Professional Development Sunday Oct. 23 (all day) and a
post-conference tour to Niagara on Oct. 27 (all day).

Professional education for the museum
and heritage sector has developed dramatically in recent decades, at least in
some regions of the world. What changes are now being demanded of our museology pedagogies?

In surveying the past and present of
museum professional education, this conference will identify current
communities of practice and promising ideas for the future development of the
museum and heritage professions and the building of an international learning
community through the auspices of organizations such as ICTOP-ICOM.
