First Annual NAWCC Conservation Seminar May 2-4, 2013
Columbia, PA  at the National Watch and Clock Museum 
Preservation of Clock Mechanisms and Their Cases
 
In this 3 day seminar participants will learn the preservation of clock mechanisms and their cases. The topics covered will include:

Conservation vs. Restoration vs. Repair
Horological Ethics
Obligation to Client
Conservation and Restoration of Marquetry & Chinoiserie cases
Principles and Objectives for Maintaining an Artifact
Conservation of Brass Dials 
Conservation of Guilded Surfaces
Conservation vs. Restoration of Mechanism and Repair
Treatment Interventions
Case Restructuring and Veneer

This is a seminar with both lectures and hands on activities open to all interested individuals. Although the class will focus on conservation techniques other subjects will be covered as well. All materials, supplies and machinery will be provided.
