MAYNARD CROSSLAND CHOSEN AS NEW PRESIDENT/CEO FOR SHAKER VILLAGE, KENTUCKY

The Board of Directors of Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, Kentucky and
Opportunity Resources Inc., an executive search firm in New York City are
pleased to announce that Maynard Crossland has been selected as the new
President/CEO of the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill.

Maynard comes to  Pleasant Hill Shaker Village from an exemplary career in
historic preservation and community development. During his 19 years with
the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency (IHPA) headquarters in
Springfield, Illinois, he rose to Director/CEO, managing an operating budget
of $20 million and a staff of over 200. Maynard’s accomplishments with IHPA
included the successful completion of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential
Library and Museum. More recently Maynard has consulted with non-profit
organizations and communities throughout Illinois on historic development
and heritage tourism.

"It is an honor to have been chosen to lead Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill,
Kentucky,” said Maynard. “The site is a marvelous example of the power of
historic preservation but its greatest asset is the dedicated staff that
work each and every day to tell the wonderful story of the Shaker community.
Nestled in the foothills of Kentucky, Shaker Village is a place of
simplicity and peace that draws visitors from throughout the nation. I look
forward to renewing and rejuvenating our commitment to preserving the legacy
of this land and its people."

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is the largest restored Shaker site in the
U.S. and a National Historic Landmark. The extraordinary site has 34
restored buildings and 3,000 acres of rural terrain located on a ridge and
plateau above the Kentucky River. The combination of historic architecture,
Shaker history and  beautiful countryside provides a unique setting for a
rich variety of programs and events  from garden-side dinners, living
history enactments and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concerts, to
nature walks, river boat tours, craft fairs and antique shows.

Shaker Village’s  Board of Directors is comprised of leaders in business
and  academia who are devoted to Shaker Village and have supported historic
preservation nationally.

Opportunity Resources Inc. provides executive search and related services to
non-profit cultural institutions nationwide.
