As a public service to the museum community, American Conservation Consortium is providing pro-bono half day on-site consultation visits by principal conservator Marc Williams. He would be pleased to discuss any preservation or conservation topic of interest to you, provided that it falls within his areas of expertise (please see www.conservator.com for specific areas). The time can be spent in-depth on one topic, or it can be allocated to a number of different issues. To qualify, potential consultations must meet the following criteria.

* This offer is available only to not-for-profit institutions that exhibit collections to the public.

* The institution must be within a 1 ½ hour drive of Hartford, CT. Institutions that are at a greater distance may be eligible if they are willing to pay travel costs.

* Scheduling is by appointment. Morning sessions are from 10-1. Afternoon sessions are from 2-5. Sessions will be scheduled with two institutions in the same area on the same day. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary.

* Appointment dates begin December 1, and consultations must be completed by the end of January, 2011.

A limited number of consultations are available on a first-come, first served basis. To apply for a consultation, please email the following information to [log in to unmask] If you have any questions, please email them also. Phone calls can not be accepted.
