**  Artifacts in Texas Predate Clovis Culture by 2,500 Years
Researchers in Texas have discovered thousands of human artifacts in a layer 
of earth that lies directly beneath an assemblage of Clovis relics, 
expanding evidence that other cultures preceded the Clovis culture in North 
America

Police have launched an "intensive search" for the perpetrators of an art 
robbery in which a photograph valued at 1.25 million Kc ($72,000) was stolen

**  Modern humans came from southern Africa
A genetic study of African hunter-gatherers suggests modern humans evolved 
in southern Africa rather than in the east as previously thought, scientists 
report this month

**  Alice in Wonderland Treasures Displayed

portly twins all went down a storm, but illustrator John Tenniel, who drew

A Cornish museum dedicated to the history of electronic communications has 
been given £125,000 to improve its exhibitions for children

**  List of looted antiquities finally released
The perfunctory details of the objects and the poor quality images of the

**  Collector pays newspapers millions to digitize vintage photos
Rogers started acquiring large photo archives from individual photographers 
about a decade ago and says, over a period of six or seven years, he 
collected about 3 million images, initially from sports photographers
