We have a large fur collection and have dealt with this problem in
the past.  Freezing fur is fine, but is usually not used as a
preventive method for pests, see: [

on freezing artefacts.  Freezing is one of the prefered methods for
killing pests, just make sure you follow the guidelines in the
attached document.
