There are so my options when look for a camera, price among them, that
you are better off making your own investigation using the dpreview
buying guide <http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp>.  

Also look at "top models."  The equipment other folks are looking at
in greatest numbers <http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/stats.asp>. 

There is a massive amount of information on the website.  It takes a
fair amount of use, to get at all the information that is contained in
the reviews and expositions.  The lens guide is new a year ago and is
outstanding, the only problem is that it is still limited to 50 or so
lenses.  The website photodo.com <http://www.photodo.com/> has a great
deal of information on lenses, but is more for the experienced
photographer.

I use both all the time.
