I think instead of looking at specific objects to cover (updating values
every year can be difficult, and a pain), take a look at what you think it
might cost you to recover from a disaster (you ought to have a disaster
plan).

A total loss of collections is a rarity--more often, you will have damaged
collections that need recovery.  The insurance is not about replacing what
is lost, but fixing what is broken.

Insurers might press you to value and schedule individual artifacts, but
that is costly and generally unnecessary.

I'm sure others will have wisdom to share.
