Dear Rubi (and others),

There's a book coming out from Left Coast Press this spring titled "Creating History Exhibits for Kids: Connecting Children to the Past," edited by D. Lynn McRainey and John Russick. The book will focus on creating meaningful and memorable exhibits that connect children to the past (including discussions of various technologies, interpretive tools, exhibit design, etc.), and so it seems very relevant to your project.

However, if memory serves (I used to work at the Brooklyn Museum), your final project is due in May, so you may not have the chance to review this book before you would need to incorporate its ideas. But in the meantime you could potentially research other articles that this book's editors have written on related subjects. I'm sorry I don't have any specifics on that for you, but hopefully you can find something. And stay tuned for the book around May!

Hello colleagues and all interested parties, 
I am currently working on an action research paper for my internship at the Brooklyn Museum in the education department. Today I am writing because I am desperately looking for resources. 
My focus is on the intersection of museum education (with children) and exhibition design. This paper will explore how the physical space and design of the museum can affect educator's lessons and movement with groups through the museum. Related topics such as the architecture of museums, place-based education etc. AND how it relates to museum education are also helpful for this subject. 
I am in search of any resources on this topic. Has anyone ever studied this before? Are there any places I can search that may not be obvious? Is anyone in the field even interested in how these two facets of the museum work together (or don't)? 
Thank you in advance for your input and any suggestions/ comments/ feedback you may have.
