I can confirm this. The donor, for now to be anonymous, is from Laurel, Mississippi and has given known forgeries that he has gotten his hands on or done himself and giving them to various insitutions and museums. We were given a Valtat watercolor, Lepine oil on panel, Laurencin drawing, French academic drawing of a female nude, Signac watercolor and a Dauimer sketch. We have proven that all are forgeries not only by method and material used, but I have located three more Lepine paintings as well as two Laurencin drawings that are the same.  If you have any works in your collections given by a man from Laurel, Mississippi, call me at 405/278-8214.
