Hello,
Senator McCain's choice of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska provides an
opportunity to test our priorities in several dimensions. I hope that
she will be given due consideration even though some of her ideas may be
at variance with those of many members of this list.
For those who are Roman Catholic, the following article provides an
interesting analysis of some of the ironies that Catholic voters will
have to deal with. The same analysis applies, I think, to Christians
affiliated with most of the mainstream churches.

The advancement of women (and of humanity) is best served by allowing a
diversity of viewpoints and tolerating disagreements in all other issues
while staying focused on overcoming patriarchy in both secular and
religious institutions.
