Tacoma Art Museum secured grant funding from IMLS for a cell phone tour of Dale Chihuly's glass artwork on view in the museum and throughout Tacoma's downtown museum district.

We've had great success with it, but I agree that to keep up with the monthly funding it wouldn't be possible without grant funding, which we're now in the process of changing over to sponsorships.
Alternatively, we've made the mp3s available on our web site so that if people would like to download the files to their computers, or iPods, etc. they have that option as well.

This displays throughout Tacoma are permanent, so it was a cheaper way to go because we can get years of use out of this audio tour. We do not have the capabilities to support an audio tour for every new exhibition we have on view.
