Here are links to 2 recent articles from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about America's Black Holocaust Museum. The growth of this museum from its founding until the mid 2000's was very much due in the work and passion of its founder, James Cameron. Since Mr. Cameron's passing in June 2006, there have been a number of disturbing articles in the local papers. (Compared to the way the story leading up to the financial meltdown of the Milwaukee Public Museum in 2005 was handled, the ABHM's problems have been receiving coverage for several years now.)

Nationwide, many museums owe their establishment to one person's extraordinary commitment and ability to inspire others. Looking at these museums and seeing how they've managed after the founder's passing and what factors seem to be key to ongoing success would be an interesting dissertation topic.
