Bravo David.  Donors will do anything to save themselves the expense of an 
appraisal.  I try to avoid using Ebay since so many people don't know what 
they really have and so the comparable sales data is not good.  Plastic v. 
real ivory scrimshaw are my favorite miscataloged items on Ebay.  The site 
P4A.com (prices4antiques.com) is a great site for real auction house results 
that are storable by many different criteria.  They have daily to annual 
memberships.  Once you join as an annual member you can only renew at the 
monthly rate of $45 vs.. the daily rate of $10 or so.  They list the auction 
house, usually regional companies, the low/high estimate, lot #, sales 
result and a nice description of the property. Sometimes they give a
