Hi Everyone:

We are building a new facility adjacent to an existing structure. The new
facility will have collections stored in the basement (I know, I know . . .
I fought that battle and lost) as well as public areas on the first and
second floors. There is to be a wet pipe fire suppression system installed
throughout, but on the second floor of the new building, it will be
above/behind a relatively high ceiling. Apparently, there is some
concern about the possibility of cold temperatures in the ceiling, so it
has been suggested that an anti-freeze (glycol, I think) be added to the
water in that area. I have two questions, and any input will be greatly
appreciated:

- Is it actually possible to add this anti-freeze to only a portion of the
system?

- Assuming that it is possible to add the anti-freeze to a specific section
of the system, should I be overly concerned about the possibility of the
anti-freeze leaking into the collections storage area in the event that the
system activates?

Thanks in advance . . .
