Thanks to the success of last year's conference, "Rethinking Museums," the
University of Washington's Graduate Program in Museology is pleased to announce
that registration is now open for "Transforming Museums: Bridging Theory and
Practice," to be held May 22-23, 2008 in Seattle, WA.

Museums are institutions steeped in tradition but surrounded by constant
change.  "Transforming Museums" seeks ways that professionals can meet these
changes deliberately and thoughtfully instead of being swept along their
currents.  "Transforming Museums" is the Museology Program's second annual
interdisciplinary conference, and will feature presentations, panel
discussions, and workshops from experienced leaders and new voices in the
field.  More information on sessions, presenters, and a detailed schedule is

Registration is open until May 16 and is free, thanks to the support of our
sponsors. Conference proceedings, admission to half-day workshops, and
