The David and Alfred Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago

Located on the University of Chicago's Hyde Park campus, the Smart
Museum of Art houses a permanent collection of over 9,000 objects,
spanning five centuries of both Western and Eastern civilizations. The
scope of its permanent collections, combined with groundbreaking
special exhibitions, a focus on research and teaching by University of
Chicago scholars, and distinguished outreach and educational programs
geared to both adults and school age children, make the Smart one of
the Midwest's most dynamic and innovative educational institutions in
the visual arts. AAM Accreditation



Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Administration, the
Facilities and Security Manager plans and administers all direct
security and facility concerns. Hires and trains the Smart Museum
guard crew of 15 - 25 students Gallery Attendants. Supervises guard
crew during museum public hours and periodic rental receptions during
non-public hours. Enforces security policies and procedures by
periodically patrolling galleries and monitoring on-duty security
crew. Prepares, updates and communicates guard schedules, conducts
periodic student employee reviews, and ensures appropriate security
coverage. Manages day to day Facilities issues in regard to building
maintenance, security and fire protection in public non-gallery
spaces. Assists with Museum and Event setup and break down as needed.



Candidate must be available for a flexible schedule, 40 hours per
