Employees of a nonprofit are allowed generous pretax contributions to a
403(b) . Our museum used Vanguard for a plan with employee-only
contributions, then switched to TIAA CREF for a plan that allows both
employer and employee contributions. I am not familiar with a Simple IRA
but there are great tax advantages to the 401 (b) and both companies
were very helpful to set up and easy to work with.
