I was just promoted to a site with a large collection of Taxidermy
including Domestic and African species. The collection entails about 30 pieces
that span in age from the late 1960s to present day. I have plenty of
experience dealing with material culture, but not zoological. What special
cares do I need to consider with this type of material. What light
considerations need to be made and how does one maintain and clean such a
collection? Unfortunately our staff is small and we cannot hire someone who
specializes in this type of material. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you.
