Job Posting - Education Specialist
The National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, is seeking
a well-rounded Education Specialist to help organize, develop, and publish
online learning resources as part of the Museum’s outreach to formal and
informal education audiences. Duties will include researching and drafting
lesson plans, student activities, interactives, online tools, short
audio-video scripts and similar Web-based educational content as well as
administrative and project assistance such as digital asset management,
electronic data entry and meeting logistics.
Applicants must demonstrate:
*Skill and experience in researching and writing educational materials such
as: lesson plans, student activities, interactives, short audio-video
scripts or Web-based educational content.
* Knowledge of education theory as well as current museum education and
informal learning practices.
*Knowledge of the range of interactive technologies and their potential use
for educational programming.
* Experience serving as an effective member of a project team.
This is a fulltime, 1-year non-federal position (renewable). Salary $37,640
