To what everyone else has said I will add just this:

If you are concerned about having too much financial information out in
cyberspace, you should know that it is NOT necessary to have a paypal account
to pay for items on ebay (or other ecommerce sites) via paypal.  This is not
widely known, but you can pay with a visa or mastercard without setting up an
account.  I apologize that I can't be more specific about how to do this
(without fictitiously going and buying something to see what screens pop up)
but I sell at an ecommerce site that primarily uses paypal and I know that it
is possible.
