Chris,

I spent almost 20 years at Colonial Williamsburg and never saw
evidence of leather weather stripping in any of the original buildings
- maybe it was not used in southern Georgian houses.

Anyway, I would also suggest contact Ed Chappell, Director of
Architectural Research. You can call the general CWF phone number
757-229-1000 and ask for his extention or for the department of
Architectural Research extention and they will connect you.

Also, Marc, I believe that Dr. Tom Taylor is the Director of
Archtectural Conservation and also the Collections Manager of
Architectural Collections at Colonial Williamburg.
