Technical Assistance Conference Calls October 3 and 10 to Help
Applicants Prepare Museums for America Proposals

Museums for America Grant Program Guidelines Available on IMLS Web site
(Grant Application Deadline: November 1, 2007)

To help museums throughout the country learn more about how the Museums
for America (MFA) program can help advance their institution's mission
and strategic goals, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)
has scheduled two technical assistance conference calls. Application
guidelines are available on the IMLS website at
http://www.imls.gov/applicants/grants/pdf/MFA_2008.pdf. The application
deadline is November 1, 2007.

MFA grants strengthen a museum's ability to serve the public more
effectively by supporting high-priority activities that advance the
museum's mission and strategic goals. It is the largest funding program
for museums at IMLS, providing more than $17 million in grants. IMLS
seeks to distribute MFA grants across all types and sizes of museums, in
all parts of the country.

IMLS has scheduled two audio-conference calls to give prospective
applicants an opportunity to ask the IMLS staff questions pertaining to
the MFA grant program. There are many changes in the FY 2008 MFA
guidelines so we welcome the opportunity to discuss these changes with
both prospective applicants and former grant recipients.

We have used this audio-conference format for other IMLS grant programs
with great success and anticipate this will be equally beneficial.
