Folks:

The Museum of Underwater Archaeology (MUA) is pleased to announce the latest addition to our web site: The Lake Ontario Maritime Cultural Landscape Project Journal by Texas A&M PhD candidate Ben Ford. In this series Ford examines the “archeology of the shore” in order to understand how people and goods moved from land to water and back again. The project will focus on how people interacted with the water along Lake Ontario’s shoreline between 5000 years before present and 1900. Ben is our first contributor from Texas A&M University. His project fits in with our goals of including underwater archaeology and maritime history projects that are diverse in subject matter, in this case a non-shipwreck based project, and creating new working relationships with professionals, students, and avocationals from around the world.

You can view the first two entries here: http://www.uri.edu/artsci/his/mua/project_journals/bf/bf_intro.shtml

We hope you enjoy Lake Ontario Maritime Cultural Landscape Project Journal.

Best regards,

T Kurt Knoerl
Director
