I would concur with Sharie's assessment of the Lincoln Log Cabin boot- they are reasonably priced pretty decent boots, that are readily available. 

Another source for boots that I would also recommend is the Missouri Boot and Shoe Company- they make period appropriate footwear, custom built to the wearers foot. They can be pricey, but the quality, accuracy, and longevity are there- I've seen his products last a decade or more. www.missouribootandshoe.com


If you are able to find someone in your area who sews, I would also recommend checking out www.pastpatterns.com Sandra ALtman has a wide variety of patterns taken directly from original garments.
