The Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia was a pioneer in open storage, adopting the system in the 1980s (I believe). Their website is at http://www.moa.ubc.ca/

I am interested in learning the names/locations of museums (all types) in the U.S. and abroad that have substantial open storage facilities. In the U.S., I am aware of such facilities at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New-York Historical Society, and the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.

Thanks,
