Qualitative methods play a critical role in providing descriptive information that brings forth in-depth understandings and specific attention to context.  As part of a series of professional development events, this presentation is designed to enhance the "methodological toolbox" of evaluators through dialogue that will offer meaningful and practical approaches to qualitative inquiry.   

Since 1975 Dr. Stake has been director of the Center for Instructional Research and Curriculum Evaluation (CIRCE). Once a specialist in psychometrics and instructional research, my present orientation is naturalistic or ethnographic field study.  Stake has authored Quieting Reform, a book on Charles Murray's evaluation of Cities-in -Schools; and three books on methodology, Evaluating the Arts in Education, The Art of Case Study Research; and Standards-Based and Responsive Evaluation.
