Amanda,

Trucks may run certain standard sizes, dependent up both the body (box) and
running gear manufacturers, but custom sizes can always be made to order on
any running gear. Therefore, I would suggest that you simply use the actual
measurements, so that truckers themselves can determine if their trucks fit.
Simply list the maximum height, maximum width and maximum length you can
accommodate. If you have doors that are smaller (such as loading dock doors
inside an exterior outer door), list the sizes of each and state their
location. This ought to eliminate all the confusion over truck terminology.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] shipping question

Hello All:

Can someone tell me, is there a standardized system that shipping companies
use that lists names of trucks with certain measurements? I'm working on
updating our Standard Facility Report and I want to list that we cannot
accomodate a semi-truck or tractor trailer, but can accomodate the next size
down, whatever that is.

Thanks,
Amanda Thompson Dyer
