Yes, Ms. McGough, no need to start from scratch -- although I haven't organized such 
emergency training myself, you may find helpful eye-witness documentation of a prior 
exemplary and superbly successful, real-world emergency response -- quite specific to 
your location even -- that you could certainly emulate as a training model, available to you 
by searching local public news reports beginning Saturday & Sunday April 15-16, 1775. 

As far as "activities that have proven to be helpful", for your group of thirty you'll be 
including training in equestrian skills, the mustering of small arms, and the seeding of 
revolution.
