The following link provides examples, through the
years, of three staff manuals from Pittsburgh's
original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular
Science [1939-1991]. Although Buhl Planetarium has
always used volunteers, the manuals published in 1954
and in the 1970s are geared for paid staff.

However, Buhl Planetarium started an aggressive
volunteer program in 1983, and the third staff manual
published in 1983 is geared to both paid staff and
volunteers.
