All great ideas.  You can also turn the light away from the object and have
someone hold an umbrella directly in front of the lights so as to reflect it
back.  Or, depending on the object, (this is what they do for jewelry
sometimes) you can place the object in a white pillowcase, lights facing the
object, and rubberband the opening of the pillow case around the camera
