This is in response to a post from the beginning of December.

A few years back I was told rolling quilts was a no-no due to the pressure on
the seams when rolling the quilts and due to the difficulty in rolling the quilts,
which would also be a problem with coverlets and other large textiles.

With folding quilts, or other textiles, one can use the grey insulating pipe foam
from the hardware stores covered with stockinette in place of rolled up tissue
paper. May take up more room, but will hold its shape better than tissue and
it makes unfolding and refolding easier and you don't end up with miscellaneous
pieces of tissue.

I do not remember what type of foam the pipe insulation is made from, but I
do remember being told it is safe for storing textiles.
