Executive Director
The Colburn Earth Science Museum, Asheville, NC is seeking an individual
to make the museum “THE” center for Earth Science Education in Western
North Carolina. The institution is poised for significant growth and is in
need of an energetic, talented professional to help lead and grow the
museum,
The executive director is responsible for three full-time employees,
development, financial and strategic planning, museum operations, program
development and outreach to the local community. The museum maintains a
strong educational program for local schools, home school students and
individuals.
Qualifications for the job include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a
natural science field (mineralogy, geology, other earth sciences),
business administration, non-profit management or museum studies. An
advanced degree is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate
proven development experience, communication skills and experience in
financial and personnel management. Personal computer experience is
required and museum or other non-profit experience a plus. Salary is
