Leave materials in their bags, in their freezers.  Avoid opening unless 
you think there might be water (ice or flood) problem.  The sealed bags 
with their cellulose (paperboard) moisture buffer will maintain the 
moisture content of the film materials inside the bags at stasis, and 
the warm up will be so slow as to do no harm.  Slowing the warm up by 
keeping the doors closed is in your favor.  Consider the warm up 
"period" as "time out of storage" popularized by the IPI publication on  
"Storage Guide for Color Photographic Materials."
