At the Rankin House, we have a 1880s scrapbook that was apparently compiled
by John Rankin's great-grandchildren.  It has nothing to do with John Rankin
himself.  However, the great-grandchildren's home in Ironton, Ohio is also a
museum, and a group of docents from this museum visited the Rankin House a
few days ago.  I showed the scrapbook to them and they got very excited,
because it includes advertising circulars from various Ironton businesses
and calling cards signed by family members and other Ironton residents.  I
feel that this scrapbook definitely belongs at the Ironton museum, but don't
know what would be the procedure to transfer it to them.  The scrapbook is
one of the items  that appear to be "on longterm loan from a descendant" but
for which there is absolutely no loan documentation.
