The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a
Project Manager for the Website who will be responsible for overall management of the Website's major initiatives as well as for coordinating the work of staff delegated to perform production assignments. This includes meeting with departments requesting Web projects or enhancements to assess the request; creating the project plan; scheduling and running status meetings; and providing status reports. The Project Manager will also have overall responsibility for ensuring that routine work orders are handled in a complete and timely fashion. The Project Manager will be the principle liaison with the IS&T department.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2-3 years' project management experience, including web or software application development project management experience. Must have an understanding of web technology and current web standards. Must have ability to interpret technical and business requirements documents. Superb organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work under pressure are required. Must be a self-starter who needs little supervision and takes responsibility for follow-up. Experience managing a team is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree required.
