Instead of reinventing the wheel I am hoping someone might be able to
direct me in finding contract templates to use at our museum.
A situation has arisen where a former Director made a handshake deal
with another state entity to host an exhibit in exchange for funding to
complete an exhibit room renovation. No formal signed agreement was
made on how long this exhibit would remain open or what expectations
were. Years later we would like to remove it and are encountering major
resistance, including a demand for the renovation money to be returned
if we do not keep the exhibit open for another 8-10 years.
Now we are placed in a position to host a different state agency and
want to have a signed contract outlining all requirements and
expectations (e.g. exhibit length, size, promotions, programming,
exhibit maintenance, staff involvement). We want to avoid any confusion
or misunderstandings between agencies.
Has anyone created a document or contract which we could use as a
template? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
