VP, External Affairs
For our major New York City museum client, we are seeking a Vice
President of External Affairs.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the
successful candidate will develop and implement an annual fund-raising
plan that meets revenue goals; research, cultivate and expand the
museum's funding sources among individuals, corporations, foundations,
and government agencies; write and/or oversee writing of grant
proposals; oversee the museum's membership program; and prepare and
monitor department budget. The VP of External Affairs will oversee a
staff of up to ten employees devoted to building government, foundation
and corporate support; the departments of Marketing and Special Events
also report to this position.  The ideal candidate will have at least
seven years of development experience at an art museum or related
cultural organization; demonstrated ability to solicit and close major
gifts; the ability to think strategically and work closely with the
Executive Director and the Board of Trustees, staff, independent
consultants and key volunteers.  Excellent organizational and
communication skills are essential.  Excellent salary and benefits. Send
