Arkansas State University Museum seeks applicants for the position of
Museum Director.

The museum is an integral part of the academic mission of the
university, and the director participates in meetings of the Council of
Academic Deans. Accredited by AAM, the museum offers credit courses and
collaborates with student projects in various academic departments.
Collections include more than 70,000 objects in history, natural
history, ethnology, archaeology, and decorative arts.  

Qualifications include three to five years of administrative experience,
a Ph.D. in an area related to the museum's collections, and the ability
to teach museum classes to graduate level students.  Experience in
fund-raising, community/public relations, team leadership, grant
writing, and museum operations is preferred. Strong communication and
outreach skills with university and area communities are essential to
success in this position.

This position is a twelve-month, non-tenure appointment, beginning July
2006.  Salary is competitive, based on qualifications and experience.
