This discussion on cultural property reminded me of a news article
that a co-worker told me about. I'll have to get the details from him
again but it involved a man in North Carolina (I think) who had an
original copy of the Declaration of Independence. I forgot how he got
it but it was legit and he had an offer from someone to buy it for a
bunch of money. I think it was eventually taken by the State under
some "cultural property" type of law or precident.

Does any one know about this case or could point me to more
information about it?
