I find in the face of so much tragedy it helps me to cope by making sure I 
also hear about the heartwarming stories with happy endings.  I by no means 
want to down play all the bad that has happened, but knowing that actions 
such as these are also going on in the face of devastation makes the whole 
situation seem less hopeless.

Also, I know its not a huge thing, but as a pet owner I was glad to hear 
that many hotels/motels are being lax with their no pets policies.
