"Changing Landscapes"
Maryland's Preservation & Revitalization Conference
May 18-19, 2006
Historic Inns of Annapolis

Deadline for submission:	October 29, 2005

Preservation Maryland is currently accepting proposals for the 2006 Preservation & Revitalization Conference.  The Conference Steering Committee is seeking sessions, workshop, and tour proposals that showcase current issues and best practices with in the diverse communities of Maryland's preservation field. Possible subjects might include:

 
§	Annapolis  and Anne Arundel County heritage, preservation and planning
§	Case studies of community, preservation and cultural tourism planning
§	Attracting visitors and managing tourism in historic sites and downtowns
§	The future of museums and preservation in their communities.
§	Case studies of effective preservation partnerships
§	African American heritage preservation
§	Cultural diversity in preservation
§	Folklore and the oral tradition
§	Maritime heritage and preservation
§	Creative solutions for Main Streets communities
§	Hands-on preservation trades demonstrations
§	Effective use of the web for non-profits
§	Community legacy programming
§	Fundraising and organizational planning
§	Volunteer management and recruitment
§	Knockdowns and mansionization
§	Current issues for historic district commissions
§	Compatible new construction within historic districts
§	Archeology at historic properties
§	Interpreting archeological sites to the public
§	Exhibit design in historic properties
§	Interpretation of historic buildings and districts
§	Economics of Preservation
 

The proposal cover page should include: 
Session Title											
Format (Session-90 min, workshop-3 hours), tour -3 hours)`				
Level of session (Advanced, Intermediate, Beginner)

Proposal should include:
§	Brief description of proposed session (maximum 150 words)
§	Speaker list. Please include contact information, brief bios and whether or not the speaker is confirmed.
