I am an advisor to a project in Chiapas, Mexico, that has provided
indigenous people with photographic skills and the means to document their
own culture. The archives now has tens of thousands of negatives and is
seeking to create a digital archives, beginning with a few hundred of its
core images. There are few resources in Chiapas to do this and the
director of the project is interested in speaking with a museum
professional at an American institution to get some advice on how to
proceed. If you would be willing to provide some advice to the project,
primarily by answering a few emails and perhaps having a couple of phone
conversations, please send me an email off-list to
[log in to unmask] The project director promises to respect the
advisor's time; you will not be asked for a big time commitment.
