BROOKLYN MUSEUM
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Brooklyn Museum is seeking talented and dedicated students who are
interested in working with art in nontraditional ways.  

STUDENT GUIDE PROGRAM

The Brooklyn Museum seeks high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate
students to conceive and present their own gallery talks using our collection.

· Learn ways to observe and talk about art in weekly workshops
· Explore techniques for teaching adults in a gallery-based setting 
· Explore the collections of the Brooklyn Museum 
· Lead lively, informal discussions for the general public in our galleries 

The Student Guides meet three Saturdays of every month during the academic
year.  Interviews for this year’s group will be held through the end of
September.

STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD 
 
The Brooklyn Museum seeks NYC undergraduate and graduate students to serve
on the Student Advisory Board. Consisting of 15 top students from all 5
boroughs, the group works closely with museum educators, program
coordinators, and professionals in the art world to: 

· Assess First Saturdays and other programs at the Brooklyn Museum
· Assess cultural events at other NYC museums
· Advise the Education dept. on creating meaningful programs for young adults  
· Plan and produce one museum event in conjunction with a major exhibition

The Student Advisory Board meets two Saturdays of every month during the
academic year. Interviews will be conducted the last two weeks of September;
meetings begin in early October.
