Associate Curator – Museum Services

Position Description:  The Associate Curator researches, interprets and 
communicates Biltmore House and Biltmore Estate history to those within the 
organization as well as to the public; develops and implements new 
interpretive and educational products and programs; develops and implements 
training programs for estate staff; assists with various research projects 
within the Museum Services Department; and prepares and presents on- and 
off-site presentations.

Qualifications:  This position requires a four-year degree in History, Art 
History, English or related field; a graduate degree is preferred.  
Candidates must also have at least three years of previous experience in a 
museum setting to include demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and 
interpretive program development.  Experience in curriculum-based 
educational programs is preferred.  Other qualifications include public 
speaking and organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft applications 
including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and the ability to work as a team 
member in a diverse environment.  Physical requirements include the ability 
to lift up to 35 pounds and climb stairs and ladders occasionally.

Compensation:  Salary based on qualifications.
