If you're in Glasgow on the weekend make sure you get to The Barras -
that's where most of the museums go to find their collections.  Then
just spend the rest of your time at the HorseShoe Pub - there's some
living history.  Just don't be seen going in the other pub across the
street.
My uncle works in the People's Palace in Glasgow.  I can try to get
you some free passes to the city's museums or something.
Other than that, I'd suggest skipping Edinburgh and London.
