Responsible for providing coordinating, administrative and 
secretarial/clerical assistance for the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery in the 
Purnell Center for the Arts. Assists Exhibitions Coordinator and the 
Director to ensure the smooth operations of all gallery functions. Broadly 
reponsible for creation and maintenance of all gallery files, schedules and 
archives. Oversees the maintenance of visual resources. Creates gallery 
publications and/or oversees their production and distribution. Maintains 
gallery website and/or coordinates its updating. Requires some familiarity 
with art gallery operations and good public relations skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BFA in the arts, or equivalent combination of training and 
experience; Previous office experience within an academic or gallery 
environment. Knowledge of contemporary visual art; Excellent interpersonal 
communication, problem-solving and organizational skills; computer 
literacy, including Microsoft Office suite, mastery of graphics software 
(one of more of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign),e-calendar skills, and 
willingness to update all computer skills as needed; ability to understand 
and follow directions; ability to maintain accurate records; ability to 
operate standard office equipment; ability to compose letters, memos and 
other correspondence, create labels; ability to maintain databases, 
exhibition and digital image archives; ability to maintain or oversee 
maintenance of gallery website; Primarily sedentary; able to travel to 
other campus locations; may require some bending, stretching, pushing as 
well as lifting of several reams of paper, small power tools, etc; Usual 
office setting; close contact with CRT for long periods of time; Ability to 
pay close attention to detail, meet inflexible deadlines, remain calm 
durirng difficult situations, work under pressure and work with frequent 
interruptions; Weekend and evening hours may occasionally be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a gallery, museum, or cultural institution; Knowledge of 
basic registrarial functions (loans, insurance values, sales data, release 
forms); web design capability (Dreamweaver); ability to use simple power 
tools properly & safely; familiarity with regional arts and cultural 
communities.
