We used fox urine when a crazed squirrel kept tearing the screen on my
kitchen window. (The first time it happened, I was cooling pies on the
counter inside. A tribute to my baking?) :-) You can obtain it at both
gardening centers and sporting goods/hunting supply stores. Some hunters use
the fox urine to mask their human scent. It is available in both liquid and
powder form. All of the directions say that you won't smell it, but we did.
Apparently the squirrels are quick studies, since I only applied the fox
urine for about a week.

Subject: squirrel repellent

Has anyone tried using fox urine as a squirrel
deterrent? Our Docent/Housekeeper knows it to have
been useful for non-museum sites. The urine should be
sprinkled near squirrel entry points (around the
museum exterior). Apparently the urine can be found
in hardware stores.

*We have never used this method here, so I cannot say
with all assurance that it is 100% effective.
