Assistant For Administration

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums seeks an Assistant for Administration to provide primary support for the Chief Investment Officer and Treasurer and members of the Investment and Treasury staff.  This person acts as one of the principal contacts on day-to-day administrative matters for the Investment and Treasury Office.  Also, this person will provide backup support to other senior executives in the Finance Office.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
·     Coordinate Trustee Investment Committee meetings; including producing and distributing meeting materials  
·     Coordinate meetings with external organizations and Museum staff 
·     Answer and screen telephone calls and route messages
·     Maintain departmental files
·     Coordinate administrative matters relating to investment operations
·     Set up travel itineraries and make travel arrangements
·     Draft letters and memos
·     Other duties include maintaining databases of addresses and contacts and handling special projects or duties as assigned
·     Other related duties

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience & Skills:
·     Must be extremely well organized --required
·     Able to carry out multiple, demanding, and occasionally last minute tasks efficiently and professionally, with a minimum of supervision --required
·     Must work well as part of a team and also individually --required
·     Must have strong communication skills, and must work effectively with staff, Trustees, and external vendors --required
·     Strong typing and word-processing skills -- required
·     Some overtime may be required

Knowledge & Education:
·     4 year degree preferred
·     Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required
